Clinical Specialist Nurse Autism and Learning Disability

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist to join our team in North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will work with women experiencing moderate to severe mental illness during the perinatal period, providing support and treatment.
The ideal candidate will have considerable community experience and be a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered Allied Health Professional. They will build strong links with primary care colleagues and secondary care services, ensuring effective pathways are in place.
The post holder will be involved in the assessment, formulation, and planning processes of treatment, as well as providing training related to perinatal mental health for other disciplines.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants can travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.

- For nursing professions - Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator, or equivalent.
- Trained in providing clinical supervision.
- For other professions - evidence of training in clinical supervision of other staff and able to demonstrate competence in this area of practice in clinical supervision of other staff and/or students/trainees.
- All professions - Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years.
- Have Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level, such as working as a band 6 (or above) in a relevant clinical area with significant experience, together with evidence of relevant CPD.
- Experience of assessing and managing risk (harm to self, others, and safeguarding).
- Involvement in quality improvement activities.
- Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
- Extensive knowledge of current issues relating to health needs of patients in the field of practice, regionally and nationally.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
