About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Greenkeeper to join our team at Lex Leisure. As a key member of our golf course management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our 18-hole course.

Key Responsibilities
  • Course Maintenance: Support the management of weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance programs to ensure the golf course is always in top condition.
  • Collaboration with Head Greenkeeper: Work closely with the Head Greenkeeper to optimize course aesthetics and ensure courses are set up correctly each week.
  • Equipment Management: Assist with managing the machine/equipment/buggy fleet to ensure all equipment is correctly maintained and serviced.
  • Health and Safety: Possess a working knowledge of legislation relating to chemicals and dangerous substances, and ensure safe working practices and Health & Safety legislation compliance.
  • Staff Development: Help train, develop, and motivate staff to continuously develop their technical skills and user relations.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Team Player: A team player with a positive attitude and a friendly disposition.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Initiative: Ability to work alone and as part of a team, with initiative and a proactive approach.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2, 3 or equivalent in Sports Turf Maintenance, and relevant certifications such as PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates, and CS30 and CS31 chainsaw certificates.
