Deputy Head Greenkeeper Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Greenkeeper to join our team at Parkwood Holdings Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head Greenkeeper in the management of our 18-hole golf course, ensuring that it is maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Greenkeeper in the day-to-day management of the golf course.
  • Supervise and train the assistant greenkeeping team to ensure that tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Prepare and maintain the golf course, practice areas, workshops, and general amenity areas.
  • Perform routine machinery maintenance and ensure that all equipment is correctly maintained and serviced.
  • Support the management of the weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance programmes.
  • Work closely with the Head Greenkeeper to optimize course aesthetics and ensure that the course is set up correctly each week.
  • Assist with managing the machine/equipment/buggy fleet to ensure that all equipment is correctly maintained and serviced.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote safe working practices at all times.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2, 3 or equivalent in Sports Turf Maintenance.
  • PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates (preferred but not essential).
  • CS30 and CS31 chainsaw certificates (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of the use and maintenance of modern greenkeeping machinery.
  • Knowledge of automated irrigation systems.
  • Knowledge of all health and safety legislation relating to greenkeeping equipment and also chemical and waste handling.
