Job Summary

Alder Hey Children's Charity is seeking an experienced professional to join their Individual Giving and Legacy Team as a Fundraising and Legacy Development Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee the development and administration of their individual giving and legacy portfolio, working closely with the Individual Giving Manager to shape and implement their strategy for growth and supporter engagement.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing their impact, providing exceptional supporter care, and contributing to innovative projects that will transform how they connect with their donors. This position is ideal for someone looking to learn, grow, and make a tangible difference within a supportive and forward-thinking team.

The charity is experiencing an exciting period of expansion, having recently seen significant increases in their regular donor base and contactable supporters. The Fundraising and Legacy Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and retain donors, as well as identifying new opportunities for growth and development.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in individual giving and legacy development, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices of fundraising and legacy giving. They will be a strategic thinker, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and staff.

The Fundraising and Legacy Development Manager will be a key member of the Individual Giving and Legacy Team, working closely with the Individual Giving Manager to achieve the charity's fundraising and legacy development goals. They will be responsible for developing and implementing a range of strategies and initiatives to engage and retain donors, as well as identifying new opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain donors, including individual giving and legacy development initiatives
  • Identify new opportunities for growth and development, including partnerships and collaborations with other organizations
  • Work closely with the Individual Giving Manager to achieve the charity's fundraising and legacy development goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Contribute to the development of the charity's fundraising and legacy development strategy, including identifying new opportunities and initiatives
Requirements
  • Proven track record of success in individual giving and legacy development
  • Strong understanding of the principles and practices of fundraising and legacy giving
  • Strategic thinking and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and staff
  • Experience of working in a charity or not-for-profit organization
