About the Role

The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Specialist Nurse to join our Community Palliative Care Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist palliative care services to patients in Oxfordshire and South Northants, including home visiting, outpatient clinics, and a telephone advice line.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver end-of-life, symptom management, and communication skills training and teaching to all levels of staff.
  • Develop and implement patient-focused expert clinical assessment and judgement, demonstrating autonomous and multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Support the development of other team members, promoting a culture of learning and teaching.
Requirements
  • Essential: Specialist Palliative Care experience, strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Desirable: Non-medical prescribing qualification and a strong aspiration for learning and teaching.
