Community Mental Health Support Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a Community Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Longhurst Group. As a Reserve Outreach Support Worker, you will play a critical role in providing support services to customers with profound and enduring Mental Health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximising the independence of people who require support and enabling real choices in how they lead their lives.
- Providing housing-related support such as supporting people to access their benefits entitlements; pay their rent and household bills; secure appropriate accommodation; access employment, volunteering and training opportunities.
- Assisting people with shopping, supervising medication, and prompting clients to do domestic chores. Social inclusion support to build confidence in accessing the community.
- Maintaining accurate records of support provided, maintaining risk assessment and support plans.
- Working with partner agencies such as Peterborough City Council, NHS services and Cambridgeshire County Council.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have worked in a similar role supporting individuals with enduring mental health needs. Having some knowledge and understanding of Mental Health and the issues around it would be beneficial. You'll be comfortable in challenging negative beliefs and provide positive behaviour support, and always demonstrate a supportive and caring nature.
