About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electric Powertrain Program Manager to join our Vehicle Electrification Team at Optamor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the successful ownership and delivery of Electric Powertrain Programs, covering HV batteries, e-motors, power electronics, thermal systems, and their packaging and integration for various vehicle applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Delivery: Responsible for the delivery of Electric Powertrain Programs, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers in creating EV architectures, integrating technology solutions, and delivering commodities from suppliers and cross-functional team members.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on the specification, integration, and packaging of key components, ensuring compliance with environmental, electrical, functional safety, EMC, and legislative regulations.
  • Risk Management: Oversee the DFMEA process to ensure that proposed approaches provide suitable coverage for technologies and risks associated with programs.
  • Communication: Report progress and milestones to the PMO and actively participate in planning and scoping exercises.
  • Recruitment and Development: Support recruitment and ongoing professional development of the engineering team, in conjunction with technical engineering managers.
Requirements
  • Education: Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive, or similar honors engineering degree. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Significant experience of Electric Powertrains (Battery to Driveshaft) within an automotive engineering environment, recent experience in delivering into high-volume vehicle programs.
  • Leadership: An inspiring leader, able to get the best out of a diverse, multi-skilled team.
  • Project Management: Project management qualifications are an advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrable understanding of electric powertrain architectures and underlying principles and technologies, including thermal management, HV harnessing, electrical safety systems, serviceability, and control strategies.
  • System Delivery: Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework (FMEA, DVP, quality planning, PPAP, etc.) and full product lifecycle activities.
  • Compliance: Comprehensive understanding of the V-Cycle and its application in an automotive environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
