Electric Powertrain Integration Engineer

Optamor, an innovative leader in the electric vehicle sector, is seeking a talented Electric Powertrain Integration Engineer to contribute to our ambitious projects within the Vehicle Electrification Division. This position will report directly to the Engineering Manager responsible for Powertrain System Validation.

The role is designed to be hybrid, allowing for flexibility while working with a team of exceptional professionals in the automotive industry.

This position is pivotal in ensuring that our electric powertrain systems and related components are thoroughly integrated and validated throughout the development lifecycle. As we advance towards production, it is crucial to verify system integration at the component level prior to launch, alongside providing development support for the high-voltage systems in our vehicles.

The successful candidate will initially focus on supporting the integration of powertrain components, collaborating with suppliers to ensure compliance with our specifications and to avoid any potential delays that could impact the vehicle program. As the vehicle progresses through prototype and pre-production stages, on-site launch support will be essential to leverage insights gained during the integration process to enhance the success of the vehicle launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate integration support for electric powertrain vehicle development across both internal and external teams.
  • Assist in validation activities and testing across Optamor engineering teams, both domestically and internationally, including hands-on vehicle validation when necessary.
  • Take charge of resolving complex issues related to both software and hardware, collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers while employing formal problem-solving techniques for effective resolution.
  • Support prototype and production assembly processes for Optamor vehicles in various locations.
  • Define and support vehicle instrumentation for the Electric Powertrain and broader team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in the integration and troubleshooting of high-voltage and powertrain components throughout the build, development, and production phases of automotive projects, encompassing both software and hardware aspects.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with automotive components, systems, and vehicles, particularly high-voltage systems.
  • Experience in vehicle testing, analysis, and diagnostics utilizing measurement and calibration tools such as Vector CANalyzer and ETAS INCA.
  • Solid understanding of high-voltage architectures, including thermal management, safety protocols, and control strategies.
  • A degree in Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is required. Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. High Voltage training to Senior Authorised Person or IMI Level 4 is preferred.
