Electric Powertrain Integration Engineer

Optamor, an innovative leader in the electric vehicle sector, is on a mission to redefine the industry through advanced technology and engineering excellence. We are currently seeking an Electric Powertrain Integration Engineer to become a vital part of our talented Vehicle Electrification Team. This position will report directly to the Engineering Manager responsible for Powertrain System Validation.

This role will operate in a hybrid work environment, allowing collaboration with some of the brightest minds in automotive engineering.

As a key member of our team, you will focus on the electrification process, ensuring the seamless integration of electric powertrain systems throughout all development phases. It is crucial to verify system integration at the component level prior to production, while also providing essential support for the high voltage systems within our vehicles.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the integration of powertrain components initially, collaborating with suppliers to ensure compliance with our specifications and timelines. As the vehicle progresses through prototype and pre-production stages, you will provide on-site launch support, leveraging insights gained during integration to enhance the success of the vehicle launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate integration support for electric powertrain vehicle development across both internal and external teams.
  • Assist in validation activities and testing initiatives throughout Optamor's engineering operations, both domestically and internationally, including hands-on vehicle validation when necessary.
  • Take charge of resolving complex issues involving both software and hardware, coordinating with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and applying formal problem-solving methodologies for effective resolution.
  • Support prototype and production assembly processes for Optamor vehicles in various locations.
  • Define and support vehicle instrumentation for the Electric Powertrain and broader team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in the integration and troubleshooting of high voltage and powertrain components during the build, development, and production phases of automotive projects, encompassing both software and hardware aspects.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with automotive components, systems, and vehicles, particularly high voltage systems.
  • Experience in vehicle testing, analysis, and diagnostics using measurement and calibration tools such as Vector CANalyzer and ETAS INCA.
  • Strong understanding of high voltage architectures, including thermal management, safety protocols, and control strategies.
  • A degree in Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Significant relevant experience will also be considered. High Voltage training to Senior Authorised Person or IMI Level 4 is advantageous.
