Business Operations Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Business Services Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing solutions and support to a range of activities and being recognized as a main point of contact for senior managers in relation to the requirements of the Access to Information legislation and Information Governance in general.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the department's response to information requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses to requests for information under the Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation, Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), and Subject Access Requests (SAR).
- Advising and supporting colleagues on compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK General Data Protection Regulation, providing guidance on the relevant regulations and best practices.
- Assisting in Council project work by conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments, drafting Sharing Agreements, and creating Privacy Notices.
- Providing education and training to colleagues on their duties related to Access to Information issues, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and obligations.
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of retention schedules, records management, and data classification, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
