Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Adult Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Cefn Coed Hospital. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert medical care to patients with mental health disorders, developing and implementing treatment plans, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry, overseeing the management of inpatients and developing Care and Treatment Plans
  • To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve excellent patient outcomes
  • To contribute to the development of new inpatient services and interface with community teams, ensuring seamless care transitions
  • To participate in service improvement initiatives, identifying areas for growth and implementing evidence-based solutions
  • To develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and families, fostering a culture of respect and open communication

A Medical Qualification (MRC Psych or equivalent) and current registration with the GMCExcellent clinical skills, including competence in using the MHA 1983 and MCA 2005Strong leadership and teaching skills, with experience in managing and mentoring junior staffSubstantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, contemporary issues in mental health, and purchaser/provider contractual issuesFlexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
