We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Addiction Specialist Nurse to join our team at Ailsa Hospital, where you will play a pivotal role in the comprehensive clinical assessment, implementation, and evaluation of treatment and support for individuals struggling with chaotic, harmful illicit drug use in South Ayrshire.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist interventions, including HIV, Hepatitis B, and C testing, counseling, and support, as well as needle exchange delivery and basic wound care. You will also work closely with partner organizations to provide a comprehensive range of physical and asymptomatic sexual health testing, advice, support, and treatment, utilizing best evidence and best practice guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • First-level Registered General Nurse qualification
  • Experience working in the field of addictions
  • Knowledge and understanding of sexual health and blood-borne viruses
  • Superior communication skills
