We are seeking an experienced hand therapy specialist to join our team on a six-month secondment basis at Dorset County Hospital. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced clinicians, providing high-quality services in West Dorset.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to work as an advanced occupational therapist in a dynamic environment, providing expert care to patients with hand injuries or conditions. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with orthopaedic consultants, nurses, plaster technicians, and orthotists.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in occupational therapy or physiotherapy, registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development (CPD) relevant to hand therapy.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties, including complex patient caseloads, as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Liaise with consultants, nurses, and other therapy staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Work at an advanced level, being professionally and legally accountable for a specialized patient caseload, without direct supervision.
What We Offer

The salary for this role is estimated to be $65,000 - $75,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in hand therapy while working in a supportive and dynamic team.
