Global Data Privacy Lawyer for EMEA HQ

The Data Privacy Legal team provides comprehensive legal advice on data protection matters globally, encompassing product development, customer agreements, data subject requests, internal policies, and privacy notices.
Based at our EMEA headquarters in London, this opportunity offers a chance to work within an experienced Data Privacy function. Reporting to our Global Head of Data Privacy, you will ensure Bloomberg meets its data privacy responsibilities, providing critical legal support on regulatory requirements and fostering strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide expert legal advice on all data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development and drafting relevant customer-facing documentation
- Draft and negotiate contractual provisions with customers and partners
- Advise on data subject rights requests and respond to third-party questionnaires
- Support Human Resources and Recruiting functions
- Maintain awareness of evolving legal and regulatory developments
- A law degree and admission as a solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent qualification in a major European jurisdiction)
- 2-4 years' experience practicing as a Data Privacy counsel at a law firm, in-house, or in government
- Proven expertise in EU/UK GDPR, rules, regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent communication and partnership skills, with the ability to advise senior business leaders
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, including template building and maintenance
- Prior experience responding to regulators and collaborating with compliance and risk professionals
- Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams across regions
- Superior communication and presentation skills, with a high level of independence and initiative
- Experience working with regulated financial institutions, software companies, and other technology firms
- Knowledge of data privacy laws across the EMEA region
- A genuine passion for being part of a global in-house team
- Proactive engagement with colleagues and stakeholders
- A high degree of independence, initiative, and decisiveness
