Data Privacy and Commercial Lawyer

We are seeking a Data Privacy and Commercial Lawyer to join our growing legal team at AlphaSense. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, with a focus on data privacy elements and implications.
About the RoleThis role can be based in our London office or remotely in the United Kingdom. As a Data Privacy and Commercial Lawyer, you will be responsible for:
- Drafting and reviewing data privacy agreements, addenda, and amendments;
- Advising on global privacy and data protection requirements, including the GDPR and other global privacy laws and regulations;
- Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and providing general transactional support across the organization;
- Assisting with the development of AlphaSense's global privacy and data protection practices;
- Remaining informed of shifting legal landscapes relating to applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidance that impact commercial agreements;
- Helping create and enhance playbooks concerning privacy and data protection to establish company parameters;
- Working effectively in a dynamic environment across different functional groups and time zones;
- Providing legal and strategic business advice to ensure agreements align with internal policies and processes;
- Supporting the AlphaSense legal team on corporate and general legal matters as needed.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- Fully qualified lawyer status and admission to practice law in the U.K.;
- A minimum of 4+ years' experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial software and technology subscription agreements and advising clients on GDPR and global privacy requirements;
- Proven ability to review and negotiate commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Services Agreements, SOWs, Service Level Agreements, Orders Forms, NDAs; etc.;
- Superior business acumen with an ability to provide responsive client service while maintaining a balance of legal risk;
- Energetic, authentic, and friendly demeanor with strong negotiation skills;
- Effective communication skills to interact with both internal and external professionals.
The estimated salary for this role is £85,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
