Job Title: Specialist Oncology Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist Oncology Nurse to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with cancer and their families.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with cancer, providing expert nursing advice and support, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care. You will also be involved in the development of clinical protocols and strategies to enhance the continuity and standard of specialist care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of patients with cancer, providing expert nursing advice and support
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols and strategies to enhance the continuity and standard of specialist care
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Participate in the identification and development of clinical protocols and strategies to enhance both the continuity and standard of specialist care
  • Review and update clinical information offered to patients every two years
  • Ensure all care is given in accordance with agreed protocols
Person Specification:
  • Relevant post-registration qualification and evidence of professional development
  • Educated to Degree level
  • Chemotherapy course and competency (SACT Passport)
  • NMC registration
  • Breaking bad news training
  • Advanced communication training
