Job Title: Accounting Analyst

Join the World Bank Group as an Accounting Analyst and contribute to the organization's mission of ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity.

About the Role:

The Accounting Analyst will play a key role in undertaking the Payroll and Accounts Receivable activities for the World Bank Group. This includes coordinating and undertaking accounting processes, undertaking internal control activities, and engaging with stakeholders on accounting policies and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and undertake accounting processes in the Payroll and Accounts Receivable areas
  • Undertake internal control activities for Payroll and Accounts Receivable, including the annual Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) review
  • Play a key role in engaging with stakeholders on accounting policies, financial reporting, internal control, and business matters
  • Manage timely and accurate completion of periodic trial balances and year-end activities
  • Provide data analysis and reporting
  • Partner with the Payroll and Accounts Receivable teams in Chennai on the execution of work program activities
  • Participate in Business Continuity Plan procedures
  • Lead and participate in divisional and departmental projects and activities
  • Participate in internal and external audits and provide support for compliance attestations and other assessments
Requirements:
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA /CPA or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant discipline with minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with a financial institution or a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant discipline is a plus
