About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Gather & Gather. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the organization and management of the kitchen and kitchen brigade.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Production: Produce high-quality, seasonal food in a contemporary style, while maintaining all standards of quality, food hygiene, and health and safety.
  • Menu Planning: Assist the Head Chef in developing and planning menus that meet client and customer expectations.
  • Team Management: Deputize for the Head Chef in their absence and manage the kitchen team to ensure they are aware of and adhere to CH&CO standards.
  • Cost Control: Plan menus and prepare food to minimize wastage, control costs through efficient purchasing and use of existing stock, and work with the Head Chef to deliver all budgetary targets.
  • Health and Safety: Understand and comply with CH&CO and statutory health, hygiene, and safety standards, and ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with these standards.
