The Role
We are seeking a professional and experienced Site Operations Leader to own the end-to-end operational activity for our seafood site. The successful candidate will ensure alignment to the site and group's financial goals, drive efficiency activity across entire operational workstreams, and manage all aspects of the site's Operations and Despatch functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure regular data is provided for service, engaging our customers, and putting our customers at the heart of all that we do.
- Lead and champion the business culture and employee engagement of the operational business functions.
- Provide long, medium, and short-term schedules and strategies that maximise production efficiency, labour utilisation, and minimise waste.
- Ensure accurate and timely stock counts take place across direct areas of accountability.
- Ensure the site has an identified and clear Visual Management System (VMS) on all processes and manage path to future state.
- Ensure all operational paperwork and transactions are completed on time and efficiently.
- Progress team development needs and succession planning by conducting PDRs, 1-1s, and team meetings.
- Ensure effective lines of communication are in place between operations, SMT, rest of the business, and externally where appropriate.
- On-going review of the operational function to support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
- Ensure the culture of continuous improvement is maintained and developed within the business.
- Analyse and action KPI information to understand areas in need of improvement and use these to push the business forward, striving for 'Best in Class'.
- Ensure and lead Health and Safety best practices across the whole business as well as specific areas of accountability.
What You Get in Return
A competitive salary of £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, plus benefits including life assurance, opportunities for development and internal promotion, staff shop, share save scheme, free car parking on site, and enhanced maternity/paternity leave.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a degree-level qualification in Food Science or Business Management, awareness of world-class improvement techniques, strong stakeholder engagement and project leadership skills, experience in project management and/or participation in project teams, sound analytical and problem-solving ability, a proven ambassador of identifying cost-effective solutions to identified operational challenges, Kaizen and cost-saving awareness, competent presentation skills, and confident in delivering to both internal and external audiences.
