Owen Reed is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Recruiting Coordinator to join our dynamic London office. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity to partner closely with our Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development (LRD) Department.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will assist with the graduate recruiting and development of our future and current trainee solicitors. This role will involve dealing with confidential information, so it is essential that the candidate understands and is mindful of the sensitive nature of the work.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the LRD team members involved in graduate recruiting efforts, supporting the wider recruiting team as needed.
- Arrange interviews, greet candidates, and collate feedback for trainee hires (and associate hires where necessary).
- Track applicants through our ATS and deal with background checks and new joiner processes, including arranging orientation sessions.
- Assist in promoting campus in the UK, attending law fairs, and organizing event materials, travel, and attendees.
- Help review graduate applications, select suitable candidates for assessment days or interviews, and ensure all materials are up to date.
- Organize graduate schemes, including events, presentations, and assessments/interviews.
- Coordinate the trainee induction program and PSC course for all trainees (where applicable).
- Assist with the coordination of the trainee review process.
- Work with the team to coordinate the US Summer program, including event planning.
- Work with the team to coordinate the PRIME program.
- Coordinate the trainee training program, ensuring all materials and meeting setups are in order, diary invites are sent, and updated accurately where needed.
- Register trainees on SQE prep courses, deal with maintenance grant payments and invoices, and process invoices for the team.
- Keep up to date on SRA regulations and other regulations, such as GDPR.
- Ensure excellent DMS filing of important emails and documents.
- Education to degree level and proven recruitment experience in a law firm or professional service industry.
- Understanding of the legal qualification route to becoming a solicitor is helpful.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and respond to multiple service requests, often while working under tight time constraints.
- Reliability, commitment, and punctuality.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service orientation with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with attorneys, staff, candidates, and recruiters at all levels.
- Professional attire and demeanor.
- Computer proficiency with knowledge and understanding of various database systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
