Job Title: Senior Support Worker

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at The Cambian Group. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Build positive professional relationships with young people and other staff members.
  2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for our young people.
  3. Know and actively promote young people's specific needs and provide support accordingly.
  4. Assist young people with their medical and welfare needs and report as required.
  5. Monitor young people's condition and contribute to linked record keeping.
  6. Help young people maintain their personal cleanliness, general hygiene, and appearance.
  7. Keep up to date with and promote various communication and information systems.
  8. Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  9. Be an effective Keyworker/Personal Tutor for young people as needed.
  10. Support young people in managing their behavior using approved approaches.
  11. Promote equality and uphold the rights and responsibilities of young people and staff.
  12. Safeguard young people from any form of abuse.
  13. Write accurate and comprehensive reports for reviews and keep written records.
  14. Take primary responsibility for a specific area of service development or project.
  15. Attend all required training and be prepared to achieve qualifications for the role.
  16. Actively promote and develop learning in various programs and activities.
  17. Attend work reliably and punctually and follow a required work pattern.
  18. Support young people during transfers to other residential settings.
  19. Keep up to date with procedures and policy changes and disseminate information to team members.
  20. Be prepared to drive the minibus if required.
  21. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others.
  22. Undertake additional duties as required.
  23. Have knowledge of relevant standards and implement them into the care setting.
  24. Attend review meetings and act as an advocate for young people.
  25. Be involved in planning, preparation, supervision, and review of routines and activities.
  26. Take responsibility for completing activity planners and sign-in/out books.
  27. Give constructive feedback to Support Workers and be a mentor.
  28. Notify management promptly of matters relevant to young people's well-being.
  29. Lead shifts and carry out de-briefs as required.
