Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team at First Base Employment. As a key member of our financial operations, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of our financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including sales ledgers, purchase ledgers, and nominal ledgers.
- Enter relevant pre-payment and accruals into spreadsheets and update accordingly.
- Create new products on Sage and update existing products with changes in cost or sale price.
- Enter all receipts into Sage and process DD and STO payments.
- Set up payees on internet banking and make inter-company payments.
- Reconcile all business current and deposit accounts at month-end.
- Update cash flow daily with all income and expenditure amounts, including future actual and projected amounts.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and produce 12 months P&L, Balance Sheet, and Period Trial Balance Sheet.
- Run year-end on Sage and review aged debtors and creditors reports weekly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
- Previous experience using SAGE is essential.
- Fantastic organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Able to prioritize a busy workload.
Working Arrangements:
This part-time role involves approximately 21 hours per week, with flexibility to work varied hours and times. The salary for this position is £18.50 per hour.
