About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Black Country Job Support. As a key member of our community mental health team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health services to individuals and communities across the Black Country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and formulate individual interventions, plans, and outcome measures that promote recovery for adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Develop and implement effective therapeutic interventions and psychotropic medication management plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, partner agencies, and external stakeholders to deliver comprehensive mental health services.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a strong background in adult and community mental health.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, carers, and external agencies.
  • Specialist skills in assessing and formulating individual intervention plans for adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
  • Effective IT skills and administrative skills to support accurate record keeping.
  • Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
  • Excellent risk assessment and management skills, with the ability to deal with challenging situations.
  • Post-registration experience of working in multidisciplinary community mental health services.
  • Knowledge of government directives and current policies, including the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines, including adult and children safeguarding legislation.
  • Understanding of psychosocial interventions and their application in community mental health settings.
  • Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Flexibility of working hours, with the ability to commute to meet the post requirements.
  • Good general standard of health, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A problem-solving approach to professional practice, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
