Company Overview

Hays Accountancy and Finance is recruiting a Senior Reporting Accountant to join their team in Carlisle. This role offers a blend of traditional financial responsibilities and the opportunity to collaborate with the Financial Controller on continuous improvement initiatives.

">About the Role
  • This newly created position will support the timely and accurate preparation and review of monthly reporting.
  • You will provide accurate balance sheet reviews with explanation around key variances month to month.
  • The ideal candidate will prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, as well as 13-week rolling cash flow forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with tax advisors to review and support timely filing of annual tax returns.
  2. Support the Financial Controller with the year-end audit process and other statutory/regulatory requirements.
  3. Work closely with the Financial Controller to develop and document scalable finance processes and controls, driving efficiencies within the Finance team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • A qualified technical accountant (ACA / ACCA) with strong IT, Excel, and communication skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting, including FRS102.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
