Are you passionate about supporting children with special needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a primary school in England. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with experienced staff to facilitate learning and development.
  • Undertake activities with children to promote physical, emotional and educational development.
  • Establish supportive relationships with children and parents to facilitate communication and partnership.
  • Carry out educational activities and work programmes to promote independent learning.
  • Promote acceptance and inclusion of children with special needs.
  • Promote self-esteem and encourage children to maximise their achievement and development.

Requirements:

  • NVQ3 or equivalent qualification.
  • At least three years' experience as a Teaching and Learning Assistant.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of education practices and procedures.
  • Able to identify and work towards specific goals with children and colleagues.
  • Able to maintain good relationships with children and adults.
  • Able to prioritise tasks and act on own initiative.
  • Able to work as part of a team and be flexible.
  • Able to motivate and encourage children to develop to their full potential.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: Up to £26,794 per annum. Excellent benefits package including paid school holidays.
