Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Fluid Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Principal Engineer - Fluid Systems, you will play a key role in the design and development of critical systems for the next generation of Nuclear Submarines.

About the Job:

Key Responsibilities:
  • To help lead and develop functional engineering solutions that meet a complex array of cross-functional interactions and requirements.
  • Engaging and building relationships with suppliers to develop and capture equipment and component specifications that meet the challenging demands of the product.
  • Working directly with the customer to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based in operational scenarios, use cases, and other design considerations.
  • Taking lead for performing and reviewing engineering calculations and analysis to make design decisions and demonstrate system performance.
  • To develop the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution.
  • Co-ordinating, managing, and leveraging a wide stakeholder base to solve complex engineering problems and make responsible decisions.
Requirements:
  • Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical or Science subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer within a recognised engineering institute.
  • Background in Fluid Systems Design.
  • Design documentation with the ability to present these to customers and wider groups.
  • Solving complex engineering calculations.
