We are seeking highly motivated undergraduate students to join our Research and Development function in Southampton, UK, as part of our 12-month undergraduate placement scheme. This placement will provide a unique opportunity to work with our Strategic Flavour Innovation Team, focusing on flavour innovations across our product portfolio.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for designing experiments, conducting lab-based research, and delivering scientific workstreams involving flavour chemistry, neuroscience, sensory science, and analytical chemistry. You will also identify opportunities for novel flavour concepts and assess their fit across our product categories in collaboration with product development teams.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of scientific principles, good lab practice, and a willingness to learn about taste and smell recognition. You should also have a collaborative attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

We make significant investments in Research and Development to deliver innovations that satisfy or anticipate consumer needs and generate growth for the business. Our 12-month undergraduate placement scheme provides a unique opportunity for students to gain practical experience within a vibrant and innovative industrial setting.
As part of the scheme, you will be partnered with a mentor, have regular reviews with your Line Manager, and work on projects that impact the business. Our Placement Team provides training and development throughout the placement, including sessions for onboarding, presentation skills, critical thinking, and scientific poster presentations.
