Unlocking Innovation at Smith+Nephew
At Smith+Nephew, we are dedicated to designing and manufacturing technology that takes the limits off living. Our team is passionate about bringing new products to market, and we are seeking a talented Research and Development Specialist to join our team.
This role will support our R&D teams through the development services programme, organising experiments and tests that will help us test and validate components, products and processes. To do this, prototypes, laboratory tests and test rigs will help validate and verify the design and methods as a design history file is built and evidence is detailed and proved.
What will you be doing?
The successful candidate will be responsible for organising experiments and tests, working closely with our R&D teams to craft testing methods and ultimately products that are not just efficient to manufacture but commercially viable. They will also work collaboratively with others inside and outside of R&D to ensure our customers are at the centre of everything we do.
What does success look like?
Success in this role will require a collaborative effort from others inside and outside of R&D, who will help craft testing methods and ultimately products that are not just efficient to manufacture but commercially viable. The successful candidate will also need to have a degree in a core STEM subject, preferably in Engineering or another Scientific area, and an understanding of how products are developed, tested, verified and validated.
Your Benefits
We offer a range of benefits to support your career and wellbeing, including a generous annual bonus and pension scheme, save as you earn share options, flexible vacation and time off, paid holidays and paid volunteering hours, private health and dental plans, and income protection.
