Procurement Specialist Apprentice

A key component of the job description is to buy goods and services needed by JCB, including finding suitable suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery of quality products.

This procurement specialist apprentice position requires at least four GCSEs including Maths and English at C/4 or above, as well as an A-Level or equivalent qualification at grade C or above.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing: This involves identifying and acquiring necessary goods and services for JCB, which includes developing relationships with suppliers and negotiating contracts.
  • Category Buying: The candidate will work on global category strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, connect with international suppliers, and enhance value and competitiveness.
  • Operational Buying: Daily tasks include managing purchasing operations to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing, adhering to the purchasing strategy to maintain smooth production.
  • Purchasing Project Lead (PPL): The apprentice will assist with purchasing activities for new part introduction and localization projects, collaborating with stakeholders and purchasing teams.
  • Non-Production Buyer: Building strong supplier relationships is crucial to guarantee timely delivery and quality products and services, with a focus on reducing costs through negotiation.
