Job Title: Special Needs Learning Support Assistant

Location: Daybrook, Nottingham

Salary: £85 - £95 per day

About the Opportunity:

GSL SEN Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to work with a child with ADHD in a mainstream primary school. This full-time role involves building trusting relationships with students using a restorative approach.

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children who have special educational needs. A sports background or coaching experience would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will also have a sincere interest in understanding the challenges faced by young people with mental health and trauma issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the student's learning and development through positive relationships.
  • Help the student to understand the value of education and demonstrate this in practical ways.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • A strong track record of supporting children with special educational needs.
  • A sincere interest in understanding the challenges faced by young people with mental health and trauma issues.

We provide all necessary training and support to ensure your success in this position.

This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants will be required to undergo thorough background checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

Estimated Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum, based on a 12-month contract, equating to approximately £30-£35 per hour.
