Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Sacred Heart Catholic Voluntary Academy. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEND, enabling them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist pupils with daily living skills, such as personal care, mobility, and communication.
  • Support the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social interaction and emotional well-being.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to support pupils with SEND, in line with the school's SEND policy.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND, preferably in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the school and its pupils.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and the ability to support all aspects of school life.
