We are seeking a highly skilled SEND Casework Specialist to join our team at Wokingham Borough Council. This is an exciting opportunity to work with families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Education, Health and Care Plans from initial application and assessment through to the annual review process. As a SEND Casework Specialist, you will work closely with families, schools, and other key partner agencies to ensure that individual children and young people receive appropriate provision that meets their holistic needs.

This role involves managing a caseload of children and young people with SEND, engaging with educational settings and relevant practitioners to support and advise on the local offer. You will also prioritize statutory processes for vulnerable children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the continuing improvement of the SEND Service for pupils and their families
  • Working collaboratively with families, schools, and other key partner agencies for individual children and young people with SEND
  • Engaging with educational settings and relevant practitioners to support and advise on the local offer
  • Managing a caseload of children and young people with SEND
  • Prioritizing statutory processes for vulnerable children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and/or families with SEN, good IT skills, including word processing skills in Microsoft Office, and database systems. The ability to travel to various locations within the borough is essential.

This is a permanent full-time or part-time position, and the salary range is £39,513 - £43,693 per annum (pro rata for part-time). Please note that we do not accept CVs submitted without a fully completed online application form.
