**Job Title:** SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Support

**Job Description:**

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide support for identified pupils in their Early Years classes who are exhibiting traits or have a diagnosis of Autism. The successful candidate will work with pupils 1:1 or in smaller groups, and must have experience of supporting Autism; either in a professional or personal capacity and must have paid or voluntary experience supporting young people.

The role is Mon to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30 term time only, with hours being non-negotiable. The role is full-time on an ongoing basis, with the opportunity to apply for permanent roles in the future while working in the schools.

  • Dedicated consultant to support your placement and ongoing progression in schools

The ideal candidate will have

  • Experience of working with or supporting Autism or other complex needs in Young People or Adults; this could be voluntary or paid or personal experience.
  • Experience of working with young people is beneficial but not essential. You must have a clear passion for supporting young people with barriers to learning and be committed to supporting their inclusion - you may have experience from Care sector, Residential support work, Autism Charity work, Holiday / Youth camps etc.
  • A commitment to providing the best level of support and care to pupils; there may be some element of personal care due to the age of the pupils
  • You will need to have a DBS on the Update service; if not, we can support you to get one in place at a low cost, with the cost of the DBS being refunded after 10 days work
