About the Role: Teaching Assistant for Children with Special Needs

We are seeking a caring and supportive Teaching Assistant to join our team at Smile Education. As a Teaching Assistant for Children with Special Needs, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in our Early Years Foundation Stage setting. You will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that allows all children to access the curriculum and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting children with SEN in the EYFS setting, including those with physical, emotional, or learning difficulties.
  • Encouraging social and emotional development through play-based activities and strategies.
  • Assisting with classroom management and daily routines to ensure a smooth and efficient learning environment.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to promote inclusion and participation.
  • Liaising with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all children in your care.

Requirements:
  • Experience working in an EYFS setting (school or nursery).
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • A passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • A DBS certificate on the Update Service is highly preferred.

We offer a competitive salary package of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. This role requires a genuine commitment to supporting children with special educational needs, and we encourage applications from individuals who share our passion and values.
