Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school.



About the Role:

This role involves working closely with students who have special educational needs, providing targeted support to help them access the curriculum and succeed in their learning environment.



Key Responsibilities:


  • 1:1 and Group Support: Provide targeted support to students with SEN, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
  • Tailored Learning: Adapt teaching materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Classroom Assistance: Work alongside the classroom teacher, assisting in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
  • Behaviour Management: Help manage and support positive behaviour in the classroom.
  • Pastoral Support: Offer emotional and social support to students with SEN.
  • Progress Monitoring: Keep detailed records of student progress.
  • Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students.
  • Liaising with Staff and Parents: Work closely with other staff members and external professionals.


Requirements:


  • Experience with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Patience and Empathy: A caring, patient individual who can build trusting relationships with students.
  • Adaptability: Someone who is flexible and can quickly adjust to the individual needs of each student.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Team Player: The role requires collaboration with teachers, support staff, and SEN specialists.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding: A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.


About the School:

The school is located in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, and this role is a full-time position starting in December.



The pay for this position is between £419.25 and £500 per week, depending on experience.
