Job Summary

HMNB Clyde is a strategic naval base that plays a critical role in the United Kingdom's defence capabilities. As a Physical Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the base and its assets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Nuclear Security Manager in physical security projects and provide subject matter expertise to other base projects as needed.
  2. Review MoD Police/MOD Guard Service Occurrence Reports to identify trends and security lapses.
  3. Provide physical security advice on security aspects of projects to ensure required standards are met.
  4. Deliver comprehensive briefs to Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines prior to and during deployment.
  5. Attend daily security briefings and capture key physical security issues across RNAD Coulport.
  6. Conduct initial investigations into breaches of physical security and prepare subsequent reports.
  7. Manage security keys and conduct regular spot checks on physical security equipment.
  8. Review security systems and work to remedy faults and mitigate risks.
  9. Produce operational requirements for projects at RNAD Coulport where security is a stakeholder.
  10. Develop and maintain a security asset register for RNAD Coulport.
  11. Act as Assistant Atomic Liaison Officer and POLARIS Sales Agreement Officer.
  12. Provide cross-site support as directed by the Deputy Nuclear Security Authority.
  13. Conduct physical security tasks as directed by the Nuclear Security Manager, Deputy Nuclear Security Authority, or Nuclear Security Authority Assistant Head.
  14. Contribute to the Security Assurance team's Nuclear Self Assurance process.
  15. Conduct Protective Security Assurance Visits as directed.
  16. Represent the Clyde Security Organisation at meetings where physical security advice is required.
  17. Compile statistics for the Deputy Head Naval Base Security successes, opportunities, failures, and threats report.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be a security professional with working experience and application of security policy and physical security measures. They should be able to work in a high-pressure environment, think on their feet, and make decisions with limited information.

A full UK driving licence would be desirable.
