Job Summary

HMNB Clyde is a strategic naval base that plays a critical role in the United Kingdom's defence capabilities. As a Physical Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the base and its assets, working closely with the Nuclear Security Manager and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential security risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with physical security projects, providing subject matter expertise and support to other base projects as needed.
  2. Review MOD Police/MOD Guard Service Occurrence Reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  3. Provide physical security advice on security aspects of projects, ensuring required standards are met.
  4. Deliver comprehensive briefs to Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines prior to and during deployment.
  5. Attend daily security briefings, capturing key physical security issues and briefing at weekly meetings and other security briefings as directed.
  6. Conduct initial investigations into breaches of physical security, preparing subsequent reports.
  7. Manage security keys, excluding two-person rule keys.
  8. Conduct regular spot checks on physical security equipment, identifying areas for improvement.
  9. Review security systems, including CCTV, PIDS, and IDS, and work to remedy faults and mitigate risks.
  10. Produce operational requirements for projects at RNAD Coulport where security is a stakeholder or DHNBS is the lead.
  11. Develop and maintain a security asset register for RNAD Coulport, capturing security equipment, maintainers, and contractual details.
  12. Act as Assistant Atomic Liaison Officer (A/ALO) and POLARIS Sales Agreement Officer (PSAO).
  13. Provide cross-site support as directed by DNSA(C).
  14. Conduct protective security assurance visits as directed by DNSA and NSM.
  15. Represent Clyde Security Organisation at meetings where physical security advice is required.
  16. Compile statistics for Deputy Head Naval Base Security successes, opportunities, failures, and threats (SOFT) report and daily stats for security system and defect reports.
Person Specification

The successful candidate will be a security professional with working experience and application of security policy and physical security measures. They will be a self-starter with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment to tight deadlines, thinking on their feet and making decisions with limited information.

A full UK driving licence would be desirable.
