Navy Security Operations Manager

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Manager to join our team at HMNB Devonport in Plymouth. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and facilities within the naval base.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of security principles and risk management. You will work closely with our security forces, including the Ministry of Defence Police, Royal Navy, and MOD Guarding Service, to ensure that our security systems and response are effective and compliant with defence security policy.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement appropriate security systems and response to protect personnel, material, assets, and facilities from hostile activity.
- Provide assurance to the Naval Base Commander that HMNB Devonport is compliant with security policy and implement Navy Command and DNO/E security risk management processes as needed.
- Lead on the development, implementation, and embedding of security workstreams to ensure appropriate and proportionate security effect is provided to enable site input to the continuous at sea deterrent.
- Communicate and problem-solve across the complex site, engaging with a range of military, MOD civilian, and contractor stakeholders.
- Monitor and guide the activities of onsite Industry Partners, including Babcock, to ensure a coherent security culture programme and develop trusted links to engender a common approach to security standards.
- Expert Generalist Security knowledge.
- Practitioner in Business Resilience and Continuity.
- Strong Leadership and Management skills at a senior level.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
