We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Director - External Manufacturing to spearhead our external manufacturing strategy. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for large molecule and vaccine drug substances from external Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs).

This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of the CMO landscape and the ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your duties will include leading contract negotiations, gathering and analysing market intelligence, and establishing performance metrics for CMOs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for large molecule and vaccine drug substances manufactured externally.

2. Lead contract negotiations with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) for commercial production and late-phase clinical products.

3. Gather and analyse market intelligence to benchmark the CMO landscape and identify opportunities for improvement.

4. Cultivate relationships with key senior internal and external stakeholders to support the business strategy and communicate supply chain insights.

5. Establish and monitor CMO performance metrics, promoting continuous improvement.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a relevant degree in supply chain, procurement, or a relevant technical field, as well as extensive industry experience in the procurement and management of large molecule and vaccine CMOs.

Previous experience in sourcing and procurement of CMO services for large molecule bulk drug substance is also essential. A working knowledge and practical experience with developing and executing sourcing strategies across various geographies and supply chains is required.
