Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Complex Behaviour Support Worker to join our team at a secondary school catering to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with young people, has experience in managing complex behaviours, and is looking to contribute to a supportive and nurturing school environment.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and small group support to students with complex behavioural needs, assist in developing and implementing behaviour support plans, and work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with complex behavioural needs, promoting positive relationships and behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers and external agencies to develop and implement behaviour support plans, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student wellbeing.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student care.
  • Utilize sport and physical activities as a tool for engagement, relationship-building, and development of positive behaviours.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in an SEMH or similar environment (secondary school experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of complex behaviours and behaviour management strategies.
  • A passion for sport and the ability to engage students through physical activity.
  • Patience, resilience, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • A desire for a long-term role with the potential for permanent employment.
