Edinburgh College is a leading institution in early years education, seeking an experienced Nursery Nurse to join their team on a temporary basis.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of working as part of a team within a childcare setting. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year's experience of working with children and a genuine passion for the learning and development of children in the early years.

  • Engage in and support the daily running of the playroom
  • Act as a mentor for student placements and new team members
  • Develop outdoor experiences and engage in high-quality outdoor learning experiences
  • Engage in staff training and development
  • Take an active role in sharing information and good practice
  • Support the delivery of in-house training courses

This position will be playroom-based with a high level of outdoor practice.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess an HNC or SVQ 3 (or equivalent) in Early Education and Childcare or Childcare Practice for a practitioner post. A minimum of one year's experience in a childcare setting and registration with the SSSC are also essential.

We operate a guaranteed interview scheme, which includes BME groups, people living with a disability, the care-experienced, and Armed Forces veterans. If you meet the essential criteria, you will automatically be selected for an interview.

Please note that the successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.

The estimated salary for this position is £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
