Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop and Samples Manager to oversee the operations of our factory-based confectionery shop and manage the distribution of product samples for internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shop and samples department, maintaining high-quality standards, and representing the company's brand to customers, clients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shop Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the on-site confectionery shop, ensuring an excellent customer experience.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory, stock levels, and product displays, ensuring the shop is well-stocked with popular items.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the shop is clean, organised, and compliant with all health and safety standards.
  • Staff Management: Manage staff schedules, training, and development to maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Cash Handling: Process customer orders, handle payments, and manage the cash register.
Sample Management:
  • Sample Distribution: Manage the distribution and coordination of product samples for potential clients, internal stakeholders, and promotional purposes.
  • Sample Stock Management: Monitor sample stock levels and communicate with production to maintain adequate quantities.
  • Sample Packaging and Shipping: Package and ship samples, ensuring they are presented professionally and meet quality standards.
  • Sample Reporting: Maintain a record of all sample requests and deliveries, providing reports to relevant departments.
Customer Service:
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for visitors and customers at the factory site, providing information about products and services.
  • Customer Complaints: Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and efficiently.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with regular customers and clients, ensuring repeat business.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in retail management, food manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and POS systems.
  • Personal Qualities: Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of quality and service, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
