Atmospheric Science Researcher

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join the Fate Emissions Transport and Chemistry (FETCH4) team. As an Atmospheric Science Researcher, you will play a crucial role in delivering a step-change in our understanding of methane in the atmosphere.
FETCH4 is an international collaboration of scientists from 19 institutions across 7 countries. The project aims to improve our understanding of the methane cycle and better represent the important methane-feedback mechanism in climate models. We are looking for a talented individual with expertise in atmospheric science, computational mathematics, or computer science to contribute to this ambitious project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting large model datasets and observational datasets using software such as Python, R, or Matlab.
- Developing and running computer code on high performance computers.
- Collaborating with the FETCH4 team to advance our understanding of the methane cycle.
Requirements:
- A PhD in a relevant field or at least three years of relevant research experience.
- Proficiency in Fortran and experience running computer code on high performance computers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
