**Job Description**

We are seeking an Atmospheric Science Specialist to join our team at the University of Cambridge. As a leading research institution, we are committed to advancing knowledge and understanding in the field of atmospheric science.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in atmospheric science, focusing on methane cycle and climate modeling. The role involves working closely with our international collaboration, Fate, Emissions, and Transport of CH4 (FETCH4), to improve our understanding of the methane cycle and better represent it in climate models.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting research in atmospheric science, focusing on methane cycle and climate modeling.
  2. Collaborating with international colleagues to achieve project goals and deliverables.
  3. Developing and applying advanced computational models to simulate isotopologue measurements.
  4. Interpreting large model datasets and observational data using software such as Python, R, or Matlab.
  5. Maintaining a strong publication record and contributing to the development of research proposals.

**Salary and Benefits**

The University of Cambridge offers a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including access to state-of-the-art research facilities and opportunities for professional development.

**Requirements**

To be considered for this role, you will need a PhD in a physical or computational science, or at least three years of relevant research experience. Experience interpreting large model datasets or observational datasets using software such as Python, R, or Matlab is essential. Proficiency in Fortran and experience running computer code on high-performance computers is desirable.
