The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Dietitian to join our team at NHS Lanarkshire. As a key member of our Nutrition and Dietetics department, you will play a vital role in providing direct clinical care to patients, encompassing dietetic assessment, treatment, and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nutritional therapy to patients, the general public, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, taking into account individual patient needs and circumstances.
  • Contribute to the development of nutrition-related policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology, including electronic patient records and other relevant systems.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate diploma in Dietetics or a related field.
  • Experience of training other staff groups on nutrition and dietetics.
  • Knowledge of audit, standard development, and supporting change in practice with teams.
  • Experience of working in an acute hospital setting, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by this environment.
