About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Dietitian to join our team at University Hospital Hairmyres. As a key member of our Nutrition and Dietetics department, you will play a vital role in providing direct clinical care to patients, encompassing dietetic assessment, treatment, and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nutritional therapy to patients, the general public, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, taking into account individual patient needs and circumstances.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in dietetics, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to nutrition and dietetics.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
  • Good knowledge of basic information technology, including electronic patient records and other relevant systems.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate diploma in Dietetics or a related field.
  • Experience of training other staff groups on nutrition and dietetics.
  • Knowledge of audit, standard development, and supporting change in practice with teams.
  • Experience of working or clinical placement within an acute hospital setting.
