Facilities Engineer Job Description

About the Company

The Sterling Group is seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to join our team. As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the onsite infrastructure, including buildings, lighting, heating, waste management systems, and electricity distribution.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on valuable projects that replace and improve equipment to meet our group energy targets and legal compliance requirements. You will work closely with the onsite facilities maintenance team, manage external contractors, and oversee project management from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the facilities maintenance team to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Manage contracts for safety and legislative areas, including gas, fire, pressure vessels, and lifting equipment.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
  4. Work with external contractors to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely completion of projects.

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have/be:

  1. Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment (desirable).
  2. Knowledge of AHUs, VAVs, heating, and hot water systems.
  3. Evidence of new equipment installation.
  4. Full right to work in the UK and hold a UK driving license.
  5. Qualified within an engineering discipline with a 2:1 or above degree.
