As a Collections Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the British Library's heritage collections. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the team looking after one of the greatest collections of rare books in the world.

You will work closely with the curatorial team to develop and implement strategies for managing, developing, and promoting the British Library's heritage collections. This will include leading the team in developing innovative ways of engaging the public with the collection and new research insights.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the history of the book in Britain, including its production, publication, distribution, and use. Experience in a research library or similar environment is also essential. The minimum requirements include a first degree level qualification and significant employment experience in a related field.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
• Lead a team of professional staff in developing and implementing strategies for managing and promoting the heritage collections
• Develop and manage budgets for the Printed Heritage Collections section
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary for this role is approximately £51,188 per annum, plus a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, flexible working hours scheme, and access to a wide range of staff discounts.
