Curator of Heritage and Legacy

We are the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), a 270-year-old charity dedicated to enabling people, places and the planet to flourish.
As our new Senior Archivist, you will play a crucial role in managing the RSA's extensive Archive, housed in our historic RSA House in London. The Archive spans two strong rooms, boasting hundreds of unique pieces of heritage from medals to paintings to fireplaces and sculptures and photographs.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the professional management and care of our Archive, working autonomously and collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve greater impact. You will be responsible for cataloguing archive collections, digitally and through physical means, as well as managing partnerships and loaning processes.
Your expertise will ensure that our Archive remains accessible to both internal teams and external audiences, contributing to our goal of digitising our collection to engage new and wider audiences.
As a highly experienced Archivist, you will bring a proven track record of success in similar roles, coupled with excellent IT skills and strong communication abilities. Your passion for arts, manufactures and commerce artefacts will serve you well in this position, as you help us celebrate our history and capture our work for future generations.
We offer a competitive salary of £**55,000** per annum, reflecting the importance of this role within our organisation. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, additional wellbeing allowance and access to our exclusive fellowship programme.
The ideal candidate will possess a recognised qualification in archives and records management, such as those offered by the Archives and Records Association (ARA). Experience of digitisation programmes, partnership management and copyright issues would be highly beneficial.
