About the Role

This role will be suited to an Accounts Assistant/Accounts Technician keen to take on new challenges and responsibilities. Reporting to a divisional FC, you will have opportunities for continued professional development, including study support. Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring all new customer accounts are set up properly according to company guidelines
  • Conducting credit checks for new customers
  • Making calls to customers and liaising with the field sales team to ensure all outstanding payments are made within agreed credit terms
  • Liaising with management and the sales team on all overdue payments to decide what actions need to be taken while maintaining the customer relationship
  • Allocating payments received and posting cash payments
  • Lodging cash payments to the bank
  • Ensuring all bank reconciliations are completed
  • Emailing account statements to customers at the start of each month
  • Liaising with customers regarding invoice queries
  • Completing web submissions on a monthly basis
  • Liaising with the Purchasing Team to reconcile supplier statements and post supplier payments for authorization by the finance management team
  • EDI reporting
  • Managing petty cash payments, placing stationery orders, filing, managing incoming post, and Xerox meter readings
  • Posting supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven current work experience in an accounts department
  • Working experience of accounting software
  • The ability to gather and analyse data competently
  • A solid foundation in accounting principles and mathematics
  • A third-level qualification in a relevant area (desirable)
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits including opportunities for continued professional development and a supportive working environment.
